Reading, Writing, and Word Language

Washington County School District's reading and language arts
program is built on a comprehensive foundation of reading, writing and word/language study. All three of these components are taught as an integrated whole.

At the elementary level, teachers devote three hours of instructional time to the reading and language arts program each day.
